Moniteur Commando - Rappel

Rappelling (abseiling) is a vital skill of any commando-trained soldier, and a moniteur commando has an official qualification to direct abseiling sessions (albeit in daytime only, on a single installation with a second safety rope). We spent many days both rock climbing and rappelling in the mountains and on the specialised installations around the fort of Mont-Louis.
