Gabon - Sharpshooting

Home >> Gabon

We got plenty of opportunity to finetune our shooting skills. Most of the time was spent on the Ekwata firing range, but sometimes we took our rifles and went for a quick one-day session at the firing range about one and a half hours’ drive away from Libreville. In Gabon was the first time that I got the chance to shoot off (a lot!) of rounds from the 12.7mm PGM rifle, though the distances at which we shot at – a maximum of 700m – was nowhere near the full capability of the PGM.

Sharpshooting_08_w.jpg (26616 bytes) Another "PGM in action" shot, this time from the Libreville firing range. The large single-baffle muzzle brake is highly efficient, reducing the recoil to an amount not much greater than that of any 7.62mm rifle.
