Digging entrenchments at the "farm" Bertrandou. We had an observation exercise until midnight in our dugouts, followed by a night "exfiltration" march with our backpacks all the way back to Castel (approx. 25km).

Tabbing along the French countryside.

A moment of pause, before we hear...

"Les sacs-à-dos à dos!" ("backpacks on the back!") Moving onwards to the next waypoint on our journey to Caylus.

We passed many sleeping country farmhouses and townships such as this along our 4-day march.

A beautiful medieval-style village by the name of Najac.
Our Chef de Groupe is looking to find a fast way to descend down to the valley of Najac, with the castle looking over his shoulder.

The valley below Najac. In the distance, behind the river can be seen the road which we later walked along.
